My name is Jon and I started my bonsai journey over 30 years ago.
I visited my uncle’s house one day and I noticed these strange trees in the corner of his garden.
They were not the normal, plain plants or flowers I was used to seeing in people’s gardens.
They were fully grown trees, but in miniature.
I was hooked straight away. I borrowed all his books and started writing everything down on paper…. styles, species, wiring, pruning, propagation…….
The following weekend I bought my first tree; a Chinese Elm from a bloke at a market.
I then found a Bonsai nursery in Tickenham and a society in Failand.
I practised on anything I could find in my parents garden and took inspiration from trees in and around where I lived.
Today we are a small, friendly, family run business buying and selling trees, pots and all things Bonsai, as well as holding one-to-one classes either at our studio or for your convenience at your home.
